Mayor on Hurricane Maria San Juan Devastation

San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz said she now knows relief is not going to get to everybody “in time” after Hurricane Maria devastated the island.

San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz describes how children and the elderly are most affected by Hurricane Maria devastation that has knocked out power in this video first aired by Washington Post. Cruz described the following critical issues in San Juan:

  • Flooding is impacted by sewage
  • Many are going without drinking water and food
  • Looting is a nightly norm
