ACLU: LocalGov Guide to Providing Net Neutrality

According to ACLU, FCC rules do not prevent a city, county or town from providing network neutrality and Internet privacy policies through municipal broadband services.

The American Civil Liberties Union is asking local governments to provide municipal broadband as a way to counteract recent federal decisions ending net neutrality rules and overturning certain Internet privacy laws.

This report shows how despite these changes, municipal governments still have the option of providing broadband service themselves and implementing the net neutrality and privacy protections that are no longer required of private companies by federal policies,” according to ACLU.
